1993 C4 Corvette

• Corvette for 1993 marked its 40th Anniversary with a special appearance package that included an exclusive "Ruby Red" exterior and interior with color-keyed wheel centers, headrest embroidery and bright emblems on the hood, deck and side-gills.
• This anniversary package was optional equipment on all models.
• The ZR-1's 5.7-liter LT5 V-8 was upgraded this year and featured significant power and torque increases.
• Improved air flow from cylinder head and valve train refinements boosted its rating from 375 hp to 405 hp!
• The 1993 Corvette also introduced GM's first Passive Keyless Entry system whereby simply leaving or approaching the Corvette automatically unlocked or locked the appropriate doors.
• The 1993 Corvette was also the first North American automobile to use recycled sheet-molded-compound body panels.
• The ZR-1 again used a six-speed transaxle.
• Standard Corvette models were again powered by the 5.7-liter LT1 V-8 connected to a four-speed overdrive automatic or optional six-speed manual transmission.

• All Corvette convertibles except those with the Z25 40th Anniversary Package could be ordered with a Beige, Black, or White cloth top.
• The 40th Anniversary rag-tops came only with an exclusive Ruby Red cloth top.
• Black cloth upholstery was also standard.
